Before you can begin your research paper you should set the margins of all four sides to one inch. The four sides of a word processor page is known as top, bottom, left and right margins. This is done so that the person checking the paper can write down their comments or instructions for you to follow. Normally each paragraph is indented at least five characters away from the margins. This is because there are no spaces in between the paragraphs and the indentation is to show the beginning of a new paragraph. The font size throughout the Research Paper is kept constant and is usually at the size of twelve and the font type is usually set to Times New Roman. You can use any font type but be careful though that the font type should be readable and should fit ten characters in an inch. The first letter in each sentence should be capitalized; and the paragraphs should be left aligned instead of justifying them. No word in the entire paper should be hyphenated. The end product, which comes out on paper, should be simply clipped or stapled together instead of using fancy folders to hold the papers together.
